A 2012 graduate of Yreka High School, Jazmine Cureno is excited to start her freshman year of college at California State University Channel Islands where she’ll be majoring in Anthropology.
Jazmine hopes to one-day work for a non-profit organization, or government agency. She also thinks it would be a great experience to join the Peace Corps.
While she was a student at Y.H.S. Jazmine was involved in sports and clubs on campus. She was a member of the Girls Tennis Team, the Girls Soccer Team, the Track and Field Team, Interact Club and Spanish Club.
As a student at CSU Channel Islands, Jazmine would like to be part of the POD Squad, the International Club and hopes to maybe even join the sailing club.
Being a USI scholarship recipient will relieve some of the stress of college finances for Jazmine and will help her to focus more on her studies.
“I am very grateful for the USI Scholarship that I have been awarded, and I hope to continue on with this program.”
